In SmellSpace you will smell odors are rate them. All the odors used in SmellSpace are used in perfumery and scientific experiments, and are considered perfectly safe at these concentrations. The purpose of this site is to generate anonymous data on odor preferences that we use to study the human sense of smell. Our ultimate goal is to use these data in our effort to generate algorithms that predict how molecules will smell based on their structure alone, and algorithms that will predict various personal traits based on odor preferences. Thus, the data from this site may appear in scientific publications such as those you can see here, but these publications will never include personal identifying information, and there will be no way to link between the data and those who provided it. With this general goal in mind, please consider the following terms of use:

The information provided on this site, such as predictions on personality, is for your entertainment use only, it does not constitute diagnosis or psychological advice of any kind. Also, the information provided on this site, such as predictions of perfumes you might like, is not a recommendation to purchase any product. Finally, the interpersonal predictions provided on this site, such as your "matching" with others, are not to be seen as a recommendation on managing existing relationships or forming new ones, and are not a recommendation to contact other people.

2. By participating, you are committing that:

D. That you do not suffer from any medical condition such as asthma that may prevent you from smelling several odors in succession. If you are not sure whether your medical condition allows you to participate, do not participate.

F. That you will not make commercial use of this site or its results
